STATEMENT OF FAITH

Our faith is based on the unchanging word of God as is expressed in the Apostles Creed. Our Faith Statements are as follows:

  1. The 66 books of the Old and New Testament are all inspired by God and inerrant in their entirety.

  2. We believe that God is almighty and holy in every way. His existence, wisdom, power, holiness, righteousness, love, and truth are limitless. God is one and exists in the form of the trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  3. God in His sovereignty created all things and rules over them. He sent His son into the world according to His will to save sinners.

  4. God created man in His image. The first man, Adam, had a right relationship with God, but was tempted by Satan, disobeyed God’s will by sinning, and fell. All people following Adam are sinners* from birth and anger God.

  5. The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born to the virgin Mary, died on the cross for the sins of mankind in their place, was buried and rose again on the third day, and ascended into heaven. He is sitting at the right hand of God and serving as His High Priest.

  6. The Holy Spirit convicts people of their sin and causes them to be born again as children of God. The Holy Spirit dwells in those who believe in Christ, and shapes those living for Christ in the world to become more like Him.

  7. Salvation is the gift of God given by grace to those who believe in Christ’s substitutionary death. Their sins are forgiven and they are considered righteous; they will not be destroyed, but are given everlasting life.

  8. The Church is a body with Christ as the head and is a gathering of believers who are born again according to the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. The church obeys God’s will, worships God, studies the Bible, practices baptism and Holy Communion, proclaims the Gospel, serves one another as servants of the Lord, fights together for the sake of the Gospel, encourages acts of love, and waits eagerly for Christ’s return.

  9. The Lord Jesus Christ will come again in bodily form. The bodies of the dead will be raised, and all people will stand and face judgement. They will be divided, and those who believe in Christ will receive eternal blessing, while those who do not believe will receive eternal punishment. In the end, the Lord will make all things new, and all things will be handed over to Him.
